Thanks for the suggestion. I actually need to use it in the Web AppBuilder, so that non-GIS users can use the app to extract addresses. As of now, I've deleted all the unnecessary fields and made the layer scale-depended. This improved the speed display a little bit (which was actually the original problem since my layer has 600000 features).

I have a ArcGis for Server feature service in a web app and I want to use the Extract Data analysis widget. (basically point addresses that i want to extract to csv based on a area that I draw). After several failed attempts to use this data and tool, I found out that actually the Extract Data Tool works only with hosted feature services (Extract Data—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS ) Any work-around this?? Suggestions?

Does anybody else have any issues with the sharing in AGOL? I have 2 apps that are set as PUBLIC and all the data attached to them are PUBLIC, and still when I send the link to someone else they are asked to log in... Am I doing something wrong here??? Thanks!

Hi, I deployed a map using the PanelsLegend app, and I have the description panel active, in the right side. On my desktop everything looks ok, but on mobile devices (Samsung S4, IPad) the panel is not flexible...it doesn't show all the text, and there is no option to scroll left-right. Plus it is hard to see the pop-ups on a small device as well. Any suggestions on how to improve this? Thanks! http://goo.gl/kmuz4t

Is there any tutorial on how to update a feature service in AGOL using FME? I have a hosted feature service which I'd like to update daily. I am new to FME and so far I am running into errors when I try to update this service. I was able to figure out how to write a new feature service (but this option automaticly sets it as "private" and I need it to be public), but I can't figure it out how to update it. Any help/tutorial would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks. I thought so too, but I was hoping I was wrong. Hopefully at some point there will be a way to recover data in AGOL and in ArcCatalog.

A way around it (that I use) is to convert labels to geometry and use them as a feature class. For example if I have to symbolize trees, fire hydrants, street poles, etc each one of them was labeled with their type and Id (ex: Tree, ID 2; Fire hydrand, ID 5, etc..). Of course, this might not work if you need to show a lot of info on your map. Here the tutorial: Adding labels to ArcGIS Online web maps: Part 1 | ArcGIS Blog

As far as I know, Collector for ArcGIS reads only maps located in a group and maps created by you (as the user). I am curious too to find out if there is way around this requirement.

I had the same question a few days ago and the only useful tutorial that Icould find is this:Create labels—Help | ArcGIS - which is not much. And in any of my maps that I needed to label, I couldn’t find the option to align the labels. One way around this is to convert labels to geometry in ArcGIS and the add them to AGOL: Adding labels to ArcGIS Online web maps: Part 1 | ArcGIS Blog This is useful especially if you need to use the map in Collector (like I did) since Collector does not read labels yet... Anyway, there's a lot of work that ESRI needs to do in AGOL, especially about labels..

Agree with Tim. It took me about 1 working day (8h) to create my first story map - including learning the process, getting the data ready in ArcGIS, researching what's the best way to upload data in ArcGIS Online, and creating the story map. Now that I know what I'm doing, if data is quickly available, it should take less than 1 h.

UPDATE: I did find an answer. Some Web Mapps (like Story Maps) have a sharring option on the right upper side, and if you click on it, it will display a short url !
