I have a question regarding Ops Dashboard. Our organisation is currently on 10.5 Enterprise version. The portal 10.5 did not come with web based Ops Dashboard as default component (as in 10.6). We would like to deploy the Ops Dashboard in the existing 10.5 environment until will Switch to 10.6 or higher (in next 3-4 months). Based on the ESRI documentation, it is possible to make the Ops Dashboard available through portal 10.5. But It appears that ,the process enables members to download and install Ops-Dashboard, a windows installer onto the local machine rather than a browser based dashboard. Can this be confirmed if my interpretation is correct?. If yes is it possible to deploy and make the browser based Ops-Dashboard available through portal 10.5 or it is purely 10.6 thing? Thanks for the help. Amit

Great, Thanks for the help. Could you also replicate another issue? Map option : Irrespective of map option set in Survey-connect, (world topography in my case), The browser always shows world street map as default. Accessing the survey through app would honor the default map option. Amit

Thanks for the reply Johnathan, The survey I am working on is authored using survey - connect as: 1)The survey uses hosted feature service in AGOL, not possible using web-designer. 2) Survey expected to capture multiple fields hidden from the public. Hiding the fields is not possible in web designer. This is a test survey created in survey-connect and published as browser only A) Survey previewed in survey connect (The organisational logo appears in the center as expected) 2) Same survey published and viewed in the browser. The logo shifts to the left margin. The logo is PNG image with dimensions are 134 X 108 pixels (as standard organisational template) same results for JPG image. Thanks, Amit

I encountered few hurdles while trying to deploy a web browser only survey based on hosted feature service. 1) Sign in/out buttons : The survey is deployed as expected and both hosted FS and the survey is made publicly available. Yet on the survey form in the browser a sign in and a print button is visible. This could confuse the general public taking part in the survey and I want to remove the two buttons, how to achieve this? 2) Image/logo: I would like to use the organisational logo at the top of the survey. If I use note or any other field type (read only) first it generates a blank space as noted in this known bug and second if a media image is used, it always shifts to the left margin of the web based survey. If the survey is open in survey123 app, the image is adjusted to center margin. Is the the known issue as well? How to achieve this? Thanks Amit

The organisation recently had 10.5 environment update and insights 1.2.1 configured. I am still very new and exploring the insights and 1 question keeps bugging me. When using excel as data source, once the excel is added to the insight workbook, it must be get hosted on the pre-configured hosting server. Once I remove the data-set from the insight card what happen to the loaded excel (or the data-set)? is it get deleted from the hosting server? The reason is, we will be opening few insights licences for some non GIS business units for self-help use. But do not want the hosting server to be loaded with unnecessary data. If the excel or the data-sets remains even after user deletes from the workbook or a card, we expect the data should be automatically deleted from the hosting server. Any help? Thanks.

Here is my situation: I’ve created a Survey123 app based on hosted feature service in AGOL. This will be a public facing survey for infrastructure asset status reporting. Since the survey is deployed using newly available feature service based capabilities, the level of editing available on the survey FS is must be “Add, update, and delete features”. The hosted FS contains number of fields, but only few are exposed in the public facing survey. The plan is to recycle same hosted FS in a collector app. This app will be available to Infrastructure team that will assign the reported assets to the contractors to improve the conditions. The contractors then update the status and improvement work date fields available from the FS. Since, on the original hosted FS Add, update, and delete features setting is enabled, Collector will automatically enable add new feature option in the collector app. This increases the risk of accidently adding or deleting the features through collector app. The target is, through the collector app the contractor will only update the attributes (Improvement status and date)will not add or delete the features. If I change the hosted FS settings to “Only update feature attributes” it will solve the issue in the collector but the survey app will fail for the obvious reasons as new entries are not permitted to the hosted FS. The Idea behind is to use the hosted FS as single source of truth data on AGOL that will serve the both purpose, public data acquisition and internal status updates. Single data means the updated info is available immediately in the collector app. In the traditional approach, I can deploy survey123 App with separate hosted FS and Collector app with another hosted FS with just update capabilities. Meaning, I will require some ETL to pull the data from Survey layer and update the collector hosted layer. I want to avoid the duplication of the data and ETL processes. The data is expected to be added to on premise SDE for analysis and reuse, on scheduled basis, but the aim is to perform all the transactions / updates in AGOL. Any suggestions on how to achieve this scenario using single hosted layer?

In reply to this topic: summarize by polygon in ArcGIS Online webapp Clustering of the points works well, but in multitude of cases, the end users (project managers especially) would like to see an overview of features across the extent of the area. In case of transport and infrastructure projects the the area locations may not be just points, but needs polygons or polylines. Clustering option for the two feature geometries will enable better visualization of project areas dispersed across the town. Currently I use GeoCortex's native clustering capability that clusters any features irrespective of the geometry type. Quite handy. Summary widget can display the attribute summary if configured for polyline and polygon features. But without clustering.

Thanks Derek, I think ESRI should consider the clustering option for lines and polygons as well. ESRI partner Apps such as GeoCortex (Latitude Geographics) enables clustering the two geometries through the GeoCortex apps. It is quite useful and in demand. Especially when displaying the multitude of project areas, transport activities across the town as an overview. The current workaround workflow to display the clustering for polygon features is generate centroids and use it for clustering. Which is bit unnecessary. Many business units prefers and demands to visualize the multiple project areas (polygons) spread across the city as overview clusters through a web app.

Not sure if this question is answered in other discussions,. but did summary widget clusters polygons and lines as well? I configured the widget for a project layer with polygon features. The summary dashboard works well with all the necessary info as required. But no clustering is visible for different project area polygons. Does the widget works only on point features? Thanks.

As a quick fix workaround, I deployed a simple WebAppbuilder App with same web map. The survey 123 custom URL link configured in the custom attribute popup. The app provides geographical interface with selectable features. Survey 123 can be launched through attribute popup. Only downside, WebApp can not work offline as Collector do. But it provides an intermediate solution, until ESRI fix this issue.
