Had a situation where a users was trying to open a project for the online Pro course. If they double clicked on the project Pro would start up, indicate that it was opening the project and then nothing else would happen. If you then went to the open project icon and navigated to the project to open it you would get this error: "The .....ppkx project file does not exist in its last saved location: ....". Not very useful. At The City each user has a network area for storing user specific data. This allows you to log onto any PC and still have your personal settings. The amount of space is limited and as it happens the user had run out of space. Would be nice if Pro provided an error for this situation.

I agree with you. It shouldn't return a result if the coordinate isn't within the polygon.

I was assuming you were using a service which allows you to specify search distance. Unless you can find it in the lot.xml file that you used to create the locator I'm not sure where you would go. Try reverse geocoding with only your address locator and then with the other locator and see which one returns the closest result. ArcMap tends to do a lot behind the scenes.

I have a Postal Code locator (created under 10.3.1) and when I search for a postal code (via a rest call) I get back a number of fields including the associated address. If I use the same geocoder and use reverse geocoding I only get back the postal code. Is there any way to get back the same details?

The Enterprise group has created the SystemMonitor program for server. Perhaps you could integrate it with GeoEvents to make it easy to report on issues like multiple failed log ons ot service crashes.

I finally found this in the ArcObjects SDK 10 Microsoft .NET Framwork Heres the code in case the link doesn't work. ///<summary> ///Set the extent of the ActiveView to be the maximum extent of a SpatialDomain. ///</summary> ///<param name="spatialReference">An ESRI.ArcGIS.Geometry.ISpatialReference interface that is the input SpatialDomain.</param> ///<param name="activeView">An ESRI.ArcGIS.Carto.IActiveView interface that is the ActiveView for which to recieve the new extent.</param> ///<remarks></remarks> public void SetMaxExtentOnSpatialDomain(ESRI.ArcGIS.Geometry.ISpatialReference spatialReference, ESRI.ArcGIS.Carto.IActiveView activeView) { System.Double xMin = 0; System.Double xMax = 0; System.Double yMin = 0; System.Double yMax = 0; spatialReference.GetDomain(out xMin, out xMax, out yMin, out yMax); ESRI.ArcGIS.Geometry.IEnvelope envelope = new ESRI.ArcGIS.Geometry.EnvelopeClass(); envelope.XMax = xMax; envelope.XMin = xMin; envelope.YMax = yMax; envelope.YMin = yMin; activeView.Extent = envelope; }

I guess I still have a problem. The envelope isn't updateable. The commands run but it has no effect.

Open your map and zoom to the extent you want when you use the Full extent. Right click on your data frame (usually called "Layer") and select Properties Select the Data Frame tab Under "Extent Used By Full Extent Command" select "Other" and click on "Specify Extent..." Select "Current Visible Extent" and click on OK twice You've now set your maximum extent.

Nevermind. I found it. Its under the ActiveView MapDocument aoMapTo = new MapDocument(); string mxdFullToFilePath = this.tbOutputFolder.Text + "\\" + fromFileName; toFileName = fromFileName; if (aoMapTo.get_IsPresent(mxdFullToFilePath)) { aoMapTo.Open(mxdFullToFilePath); } string toDir = this.tbOutputFolder.Text; IActiveView aoToActiveView = aoMapTo.ActiveView; aoToActiveView.FullExtent.Envelope.XMax = 14649; aoToActiveView.FullExtent.Envelope.YMax = 5678978; aoToActiveView.FullExtent.Envelope.XMin = -25723; aoToActiveView.FullExtent.Envelope.YMin = 5631275;

We're upgrading to ArcGIS 10 and we are changing a number of our feature classes and databases. To assist our 2500 users we have written a program that converts old layers to the new layers where possible keeping the symbology etc. I need a little help in accessing the data frames associated with a map and changing the maximum extent when users click on the zoom out to full extent icon. Going through the object models can be quite a chore. Could someone tell me which objects I'll need to use? The program is written in c#.
