Could it be to do with the maximum image size settings on your map service? See here: http://geophyter.blogspot.com/2010/11/displaced-rest-map-service-in-flex.html

It could be either your crossdomain.xml file (usually indicated by error #2048) or maybe you haven't configured the ".swz" mime-type on your web server (usually indicated by error #2032). A discussion of the crossdomain.xml issue is here: http://geophyter.blogspot.com/2010/11/flex-sandbox-security-error-2048.html If you are getting error #2032 instead, you need to create a new mime-type. A guide for doing this on IIS is here: http://viveklakhanpal.wordpress.com/2009/02/13/failed-to-load-rsl-error-2032/

If you are getting sandbox error 2048, you probably need to configure one or more crossdomain.xml files I discuss the issue and solution here: http://geophyter.blogspot.com/2010/11/flex-sandbox-security-error-2048.html

You probably haven't enabled directory browsing to make the file accessible. Here is a blog post which describes error 2048 in detail: http://geophyter.blogspot.com/2010/11/flex-sandbox-security-error-2048.html

Hello all, I'm creating a Flex application and would like to place a disclaimer at the front of it. I have developed a custom widget which opens when the applicaiton starts. The problem is that the map is that the map can still be navigated without clicking the 'accept' button on the widget. I noticed the Map.mapNavigationEnabled property but cannot figure out how to use it. Has anyone tried this before?

Furthermore, Embedding SQL within your Flex application would open a significant security hole. As described above, create a web service and make sure the parameters are cleaned before running the resulting SQL. I have previously created similar geoprocessing services using Python and Model builder. James.
