This is for a sidewalk project we are working on. We are scoring all trip generators (church, post office, schools, etc..) assigning them a number and creating a raster based off of the assigned number. Then we are using raster calculator to add them together to create an overall number for the area we are looking at. Then we need to take the length of the sidewalk and see what the overall score is for that entire length. Thus needing the length weighted mean. I'm good on most of it. Just having a hard time figuring the LWM of a line based on the raster.

I am trying to redo a project for a collegue. It was done several years ago using Spatial Ecology. A raster was created and a line feature was overlayed on the raster. They then were able to use GME Spatial Ecology to find the Length Weighted Mean of Lines that intersected the raster. I noticed that Spatial Ecology wasn't compatible with 10.7. How would you go about doing something like this in Arc10.7 or ArcGIS Pro? Any help/suggestions would be helpful. I can give more info if necessary. Thanks in advance!

I've seen a few discussions on running ArcMap and ArcPro in a VDI Environment but they were older discussions. Is anyone currently using a VDI Environment to run these programs? If so, what is your take on it? I'm currently looking at going this direction but I'm needing more information to present to my superiors. We are looking at migrating all of our GIS Data, servers, etc. over to AWS and possibly use AWS Workspaces to access the data and maps. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have created points at all of my street intersections and am now trying to "name" those intersections using my street names. How would I go about doing this? Are there any scripts or models that can do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kory, This could work, yes for some people. However, most of the people I deal with don't know what they want until the end. When they come in its usually "Can I just see where my water meter is? or Can I see the zoning for my house?" then its "Oh by the way can I get a print out of that? " Then going back and forth with them on the different sizes of paper, and seeing if things fit best in either landscape or portrait. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone tell me "11x17 will work" then when its printed out, "Oh this is too big can I get an 8.5x11" or even "can I get one in 11x17 and 8.5x11". I have this happen at least 1 time a week and becomes a hassle! I typically have anywhere from 2-4 different map documents open at any given time due to not knowing what the next person will want their map to be printed on. That's why I'd like to see the "View" and "Layout" be linked, so no matter what request comes through, it can be navigated to quickly and effectively. If a person says they want an 8.5x11 map and I pull that map up and then they want it in 11x17 as well I'd have to do the same thing again. But by "linking" the layout to the view I wouldn't have to worry about that.

Jeff, Thanks for the reply. I understand how things could get out of hand QUICK! What I am suggesting is something along the lines of what is currently in place, only it links the "Data View" to the "Layout View". A feature that currently available that links "data view" to "data view". Maybe a setting that the user can turn off/on, and allows for a maximum of 5 "links" between the data view/layout view? My department deals with the public on a daily basis and many people request a "printable" map, on either a 8.5"x11" or 11"x17" sheet of paper. Many times they stand/sit watching and waiting. Right now I pull up ArcMap and can navigate to the location in either "Data View" or "Layout View" and can toggle between both with no issues. I can pan in "Data View" and switch over to "Layout View" and, produce a map relatively quickly! However, it looks like, in ArcPro if I navigate to something in "Data View" and switch to "Layout View" I would have to re-navigate to it in that view? It's more hassle and work, at that point. Especially when you are doing this over and over, each day. Again, this is my opinion, and might not work for everyone. Just like not having a link between "data view" and "layout view", doesn't work for me. Just a thought. I appreciate your response to this issue!

It would be great if you could Link the "Map views" to the "Layout views". So, if I navigate to something in one of my "Map views" it shows up on the "Layout View" tab as well. Without having to create a bookmark.

My issue is not knowing how to implement logic structures. I want to use the field calculator but I'm not sure how to implement it.

Question regarding Python and field calculating. I have 4 fields "BaseArea", "SW_Fee", "PT", "IASqFt". I am trying to field calculate the "SW_Fee" field based on a fee structure. My "PT" field has 3 catagories ( 'Residential', 'Industrial', 'Commercial') (more catagories could be added later). My "BaseArea" and "IASqFT" are both long integers. I need something along the line of " If "PT" equals 'Residential' then look in "BaseArea". If "BaseArea" is >= to 1501 then the fee is $2.50 then if "BaseArea is <= 1500 the fee is $1.50. BUT if "PT" equals 'Commercial' I have a whole other set of criteria for it to look at. Any and all help is appreciated.

The only "inconvenience" I found was when it found more than one "From or To" Street it put multiple street names in the field. I'd like to see it be able to work " West to East" or "North to South" orientation depending on which way the "On" street is going and use only 1 street as the "From or To" Street. Below is a sample of what I'm getting.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been on vacation and we've been in the process of changing vendors for our GIS hosting. I ran the script on my full data set and it looks like it did a great job breaking things where I needed them to. There looks to be some clean up on things, but that's to be expected. I appreciate your help on this. This has saved me a lot of man hours doing it manually!
