Terry, It never hurts to do a complete uninstall of older version of desktop and their related folders and then install the newer version of desktop. We had performance issues after upgrading to 10.5.1 and we called tech support. After rebuilding indexes (Rebuild Indexes (Data management) tool) and analyzing datasets (Analyze Datasets (Data Management) tool) our performance problems were solved. We were not routinely rebuilding indexes and over time it bogged everything down and after our upgrade to 10.5.1 and turning on editor tracking, it finally had enough and slowed to a crawl. So, remember to routinely rebuild your indexes and call tech support if you need assistance, they are an invaluable resource. Kevin Rubalcaba GIS Analyst

I am attempting to use ArcGIS Pro more since I do like the ribbon layout and the faster speeds compared to ArcGIS desktop. Although there is a lot left to desire with ArcGIS pro, I find that I am able to complete some of the more general editing tasks with Pro. However, I have uncounted a serious problem! Snapping just sometime stops working when using Editing tools like Vertices, Reshape, Split, Create etc. I can generally use an Editing tool once after my initial startup and then, when I go back to use the same tool a second time, snapping is just....gone! And by gone, I mean that I am unable to snap to anything at all. I have snapping turned on and am well aware of all the intricacies involved with the snapping environment. It seems to be a pretty serious bug with Pro, one that is making it almost impossible to perform basic editing tasks. I have yet to figure out how to get snapping to return with any reliability. Sometimes I can change tools or unselect and reselect and snapping magically returns, but many times I have to restart Pro and go thru the whole process again. Am I the only one experiencing this!? I contacted ESRI support yesterday but have yet to hear anything from them. I am disappointed that such an integral part of basic editing is not working correctly in what will (I can only assume) eventually replace desktop.

I am also seeing problems with snapping, even when the snapping text comes up and "locks" onto a point, once I zoom in, I can see that it did not snap. After spending weeks working in ArcGIS Pro, I can not help but felt let down by this product. It is clearly unfinished and I am not quite sure what I am supposed to do with it. It has so much promise but there are so many tools and functions missing from this software and I simply can not invest a lot of time in ArcGIS Pro when I find myself having to switch back and forth from Pro to 10.3 just tom complete my daily tasks. They are two different animals and it takes too much effort to try to use them together. So.....the waitng game begins. I wonder how long it will take for ArcGIS Pro to get where it should be?
