Hi Dan, When calculating geometry for latitude and longitude fields, ArcGIS Pro 3.03 gives me eight decimals: DDMMSS.ssssssss I guess someone in the world wants that, but we just want DDD° MM' SSS.sss (like the good old days in ArcGIS Desktop). Choosing WGS84 vs. a state plane coordinate system does not appear to affect this. We are choosing the following option for coordinate format: (Degrees Minutes Seconds (DDD° MM' SSS.ss" <N|S|E|W>) While I am asking, perhaps there is a way to add these fields so that they automatically update when points are added to the table?

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. InDesign has a neat feature where it constantly appraises the user of the "number of errors" and provides a quick access utility that lists each one and provides the direct ability to fix each one. I could see this type of feature to make saves very helpful.

Oldschool ArcGIS user... I find the ability to perform the various saves in ArcGIS Pro to be very CLUNKY. If a change is made to an alias (whether to the current layer or the data source) of a field in the Fields view of the table, and then I go to close the Fields tab of that layer, I get "Unsaved Changes Found" asking me if I am sure I want to close the pane...that all unsaved edits to the workspace will be lost. So, I try to find anywhere where the option to Save is not grayed out... Not finding any. I guess I wish there were someplace in the program window where I could see a separate small panel overview summarizing the various unsaved edits with save buttons next to them so I could just click them and be done. Ugh.

Hi, I have a 3D polygon feature that I would like to rotate in 3D. It is an ornate cross-beam, so I sketched it in 2D, as if cutting it out of a beam while it was laying on the ground, and now, I want to set the beam on its narrow edge. I am hoping that multipatch features can be easily rotated in such a manner. So, along that line, is it possible to export the 3D polygon feature into a 3D model that can be imported into a multipatch feature class? I was hoping that rather than hopping through so many hoops, I would just be able to rotate the feature to begin with, but, am I on the right path? Thank you.

I agree with you Mervyn, and after additional testing, I have come to the conclusion I may not figure out how to salvage that project. I am glad to discover that Pro does work the way I had hoped it would, (until it doesn't, haha!). Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Mervyn, Both layers are editing enabled in the TOC. I am starting to think this is a spatial reference thing. The two layers I am working with happen to have the same spatial reference, but there are a variety of coordinate systems represented by all the layers in the map. The map itself is set to use that of the two layers being edited. ArcMap doesn't mind, it might warn me, but it doesn't prevent me from editing.

ArcMap flies through this. So, I am starting to think the coordinate system is the touchy culprit. Touchy because the only way I am getting copy and paste to work is by starting a new instance of Pro, new project, new map and allowing Pro to set the coordinate system based on the added data, and both are in the same coordinate system, thankfully. I try adding a new map to the other project, adding data and it will work, but I cannot copy and paste the layers from one map to a new empty map in the same project and get the copy/paste to work on features. Only way Pro has cooperated so far for me is to Add Data to a new map with no predetermined coordinate system. Does that make sense?

Hi Dan, thank you for the reply. I hear you, that is why I included that. But please tell me Pro will allow copying say, a parcel shape to a zoning layer, which would have two different attribute tables that may or may not have a few fields in common. Although this is not the case with my current layers, is that not a basic need—to be able to copy the geometry and paste it to a different layer, and whatever attributes come along for the ride depends on the attributes? I will do the 'fix' and get back shortly.

Copy and paste using the clipboard—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Seems pretty straightforward....but not? Two feature polygon layers, which have templates that display in the manage templates dialog box, and which have identical attribute table structures except for one field. Copy the features from one layer and paste them into the other feature layer using ArcGIS Pro.... Zoom to the features to be copied and select them. They are the only selection in the map. On the Edit tab, choose Copy result: "Copying selected features" box shows the copying is executed. Paste Special from the Paste drop down or using CTRL-ALT-V either way, same result: "Paste Special Features" box appears and says ?There are no appropriate templates. This is so basic, it has to be user error, what am I missing?

See Drone2Map samples not processing — not yet answered thread for additional information and solutions. Anthony Mason identified that something in our server security settings was quarantining a Drone2Map executable and preventing the software from working properly. I am not sure what our network guys changed in our server's security settings, but they identified it quickly when I let them know and once that was done, Drone2Map was happy and began to work properly.

Our IT folks determined where our company's network had settings that were preventing Drone2Map from processing properly. Kudos to Mark Romero @ Esri for helping us out with that!
