Anna. I am also seeing the same problem. In fact, I can't calculate *ANYTHING* using Arcade, numerical or text string, and using a hosted feature layer. Last week, I submitted this problem to Esri and Tech Support created a Bug #. See attachment. The problem has not yet been fixed. - Scott

Hi. I also see field width problems in Pro (2.4.3), but it only seems to happen when I work in a Pro window that is not maximized to fit the entire screen. For example, the first screen capture below was from a Windows 10 half-screen-size Pro window. The acres2 values came from Calculate Geometry. Several other fields were compressed in width as well (a, C, a, S) in the half-screen view. The second screen capture was from a maximized Pro window. The acres_new values also came from Calculate Geometry, but this tool was run with the Pro window already maxed. As you can see, the original compressed fields including acres2 were retained even after I had maxed the Pro window. The values in the acres2 and acres_new fields should be identical. It would be very helpful for Pro users to have some type of auto field width built in to the attribute tables, or at least a button to do this manually. This is especially true for new users who would likely assume the field widths are correct. Certainly no Pro users would expect that the field would appear to be truncated to the left. - Scott White Fort Lewis College Dept. of Geosciences

Kory. For what it's worth, when I was at the User Conference in July, I asked one of the Esri employees in the ArcGIS Pro section of the exhibit hall about the inability to insert a layout frame or "neatline". He gave me a quizzical look and said something like "You actually do that when you make maps?". I said "Of course. It makes the map look finished." Still with the quizzical look, he said that capability was not in the current release of Pro and recommended that I draw a rectangle. I left somewhat disappointed and worried about the supposed cartographic improvements in ArcGIS Pro. - Scott

Hello. I'm a relatively new ArcGIS Online user. On my Windows 7 computer (64-bit), I often like to work with two windows side-by-side, so I will often 1/2-screen Internet Explorer and 1/2-screen another application's window. When I try to start using the Story Maps Map Tour interactive builder on a 1/2-screen window, I get the following error message: An error has occurred Welcome to the Map Tour web application. The application is not configured. The Map Tour builder is not supported on mobile devices. I've also attached the message so that you can see it in full color! I am not trying to run the Map Tour builder on a mobile device. I am using a desktop computer. As soon as I make the window full screen, the error message goes away and I see the "Where are your images or videos" dialog. While the easy fix is to not 1/2-screen the IE window, I feel this is a bug that should be addressed by Esri. I am surprised other ArcGIS Online users have not posted on the forum about this error message . I should also add that this error message appears for 1/2 screens of Chrome and Firefox, so IE is not the problem. Could someone from Esri please reply and let me know if this is a documented bug, or if I should try to document it? Thanks, Scott White Fort Lewis College Durango, CO

Hello. I have been told by an employee at Esri that the ArcGIS Explorer Desktop product will no longer be supported in the future, and that it will only exist as an online viewer. I assume this would be http://www.arcgis.com/explorer/. Can someone from Esri on this forum confirm that the Desktop Explorer is being officially discontinued, and if so, when that will happen? The main reason I am asking this is because I use Explorer Desktop in some of my college teaching. I would like to know if it's going away (and when) before I spend the time updating GIS exercises for my students. Thanks, Scott White Durango, CO

Mike: It freezes after I click "Configure Pop-up". I can get to the Pop-up Properties settings, but IE9 freezes and I can make no selections. I am using the identical version of IE9 that you are using, 9.0.9. Screen captures of the before and after are attached. The after image is frozen. -Scott

Hello. I am trying to configure pop-ups for three point features on the default basemap in the ArcGIS Online map viewer. I am using IE9. These three points features were saved as a shapefile from ArcMap, zipped, and then the .zip was added to the ArcGIS Online basemap. While I can change point symbology without any problem, I cannot configure pop-ups. IE9 freezes and eventually a message appears saying that ???arcgis.com is not responding due to a long-running script???. This does not happen in the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Unfortunately, my school only has IE9 installed and available in our student computer labs. I have noticed some similar problems described in other ArcGIS Online forum postings. The reason for the script error is typically explained as resulting from too many point features in the online map and browser limitations. I don't think those reasons apply in this case with my zipped shapefile as there were only three point features in the shapefile. I have attached the .zip file. Hello. Yesterday (July 19) I was working with the ArcGIS.com map viewer and was able to type a simple coordinate pair (-104.7108, 38.8158) in the Find address or place box, press the keyboard's Enter key, and watch the map zoom to the correct location. Today (July 20), I cannot do this. After typing the coordinates and pressing the Enter key or the Find button, an Error message box appears saying Location '-104.7108, 38.8158' could not be found.. I have tried this using both IE9 and Firefox14, Windows7 and XP machines with the same results. Am I doing something wrong or has this functionality been removed from the map viewer? Thanks for the help. -Scott White Fort Lewis College Durango, CO
