I'm trying to export a large SDE to XML so that is can be sent to a client. First I tried export in xml format but the file was too big and the export failed before it could finish. So I'm exporting in the compressed Z file format. The exports run successfully and my file size is about 10gb. Then I'm importing into another blank SDE to make sure it worked properly. The import process runs successfully but, after scanning through some of the feature classes, many of them are missing data. All schema comes across though. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is the file size still too large for Z files? Any help appreciated Thanks Tyler

ESRI has detailed streets based on 2007 TOM TOM data available free here. http://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=esri&title=ESRI%20Data%20%26%20Maps&content=all&start=11 Download the dataset then clip out your area of interest. It has all attribute necessary to create a good network dataset for use in Network Analyst. Hope This Helps\ Tyler

Can I set it so Tuesdays Route begins where Mondays route ended? Drivers will only be returning to the "depot" on Friday for the weekend. Thanks for your reply

I have a route with a time window from 8AM to 5PM. There are too many locations to get in one day. It is planned that it will take 3 weeks for visit all locations. The following, http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//004700000045000000 says that if a route arrives early to a location then a wait time will be accumulated until time window opens up. I have also tried using the VRP solvers and I run into the same issues My problem is that my route is fine until a stop occurs at let say 5:45 PM. What I want is to accumulate a wait time until 8AM the next day. However network analyst just sees it as a time violation and continues routing to my points through the night. In reality the driver will be staying in a hotel then continuing the route the next day. Is there any way to make route honor a daily time window or something. Any solutions using the routing or VRP solver functions would be great. Thanks

Overview of my project. I have 600 sampling locations and 4 vehicles (150 stops per driver). The locations can only be visited between 8 am and 4:30 pm. Drivers have 30 minute break in middle of the day. What i would like to accomplish are routes that visit the sampling location during time window then assume the driver continues toward next location, stays overnight and starts with next set of points the following day. I want it to repeat this until all 150 points are visited. I would also like routes to return to a specified depot during weekends if possible. I have ran several attempts at this but keep getting violated constraints. It seems as though network analyst doesn't like that routes continue past the Specific Date that I set as a start date in the Analysis Settings. Has anyone successfully created routes spanning multiple days with time constraints? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The easiest way to remove the double spaces I've found it to start editing you layer. Highlight your address field and do a find and replace. Put a double space in the "find" and single in "replace with". You can run this several times to remove possible triple of quad spaces from the concatenating process. Tyler

I also had this issue while editing. Make sure all of the data in your map is in the same projection. ArcMap will warn you which layers have a different projection than the data frame when you start editing. After I did this my editing jumped to near instant speed and snapping worked like a charm.' Hope this helps, Tyler

If you have a digital elevation model of your area and the spatial analyst extension for ArcMap then you can use spatial analyst to determine slope. Then you can reclassify the slope raster to highlight areas within a given slope range which is your uphill and downhill areas depending on which way your traveling on the road. You could also create a buffer polygon along your road to clip out only the area under the road that your interested in. Hope this helps, Tyler

Alexey, As you suggested I tried routing between two points in San Francisco and still go the same error. Starting to think there's a connection issue. I also don't have any other routing services available in the drop down besides the European tele atlas service. Is the North American Routing Service (ArcGIS Online) you tried the same as what I provided a link to in previous reply? At this point I'm going to put a ticket in with ESRI for further support on this issue. Thanks for all your help. Tyler

Alexey, Thanks for your reply. To clarify, I enabled the StreetMap toolbar and I'm clicking the "Find Route (using online route services)" button. Under the stops tab I select. North American Route Finder Tele Atlas as my service. I left all the options in there default setting and I input 2 stop addresses. Then I hit find route and it comes up with the error described above. What I really trying to use it this service:http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=4078fece745140d7af17bf74b5f300fd I have set the connection and can add this map service to my arcmap table of contents but it has no geometry and I can see no way to input stop information and the like to create a route. I'm using ArcMap 9.3.1 Thanks Tyler
