Thanks for the reply! Yes this is about where I ended up also. It seems there is no way to publish just the footprints to AGOL/portal. If you want them there you have to publish a map service.

Thanks for the reply @YuriPotawsky ! Yes we are adding records to the Derived MD as Table Type. I will try to convert the ov_ files back to overviews. I couldn't get a straight answer from support about whether that would cause any issues, but I will try it. I will just have to be careful with synchronize when we add new rasters to source that it doesn't blow away the overviews on the derived MD. Calculating overviews on the derived MD is a good idea to try also. What is the significance of the Raster Type ID Field? I can't find any documentation about it.

Software: ArcGIS Pro 3.1.3 Drone orthomosaics stored in Source and Derived Mosaic Datasets(MDs). Overviews are created on Source MDs as suggested in documentation. When adding a Source Mosaic Dataset to a Derived MD (e.g., combining multiple projections or pixel types into a single dataset), the overviews from the source get converted from "Overview" to "Primary" category. This is expected behavior per this documentation , but why? I would like to be able to only show footprints for Primary Rasters and not overviews, but have to do a bit of a workaround to get it working. What are the implications of changing the category back to "Overview"? Is there some reason why Overviews become "Primary" when added as a Table / Raster Catalog? Any help or insights appreciated!

Thanks for the idea @GaryChen, that could work for some of our applications. I would like also to be able to have the footprints available to our users in ArcGIS Pro/Desktop,

ArcGIS Pro 3.1.2, Server 11 Drone RGB Imagery in a Mosaic Dataset, served as an Image Service. Is there a way to display the footprints as part of an image service? Or a way to publish the footprints as a service? I don't want to export the footprints to feature because rasters will be added to the Mosaic Dataset over time. I have tried to create a Database View of the footprints but can't seem to access the Footprint table in SQL. I have also tried to publish the footprints but can't figure out how to isolate them from the Imagery and the Boundary. Any advice appreciated!

Hello, I am exporting an animation from a Global Scene in ArcGIS Pro, with an Imagery Basemap. My problem is that you can see the tiles loading in the upper edge of the exported video as I fly through the scene. Is there a setting to pre-load tiles? Or increase the range or cache of loaded tiles so I don't see them loading? I have attached a screenshot showing the issue.

Thanks Dan, here is the snippet of where I am splitting by attributes. Is there something obvious I am missing below that is selecting the table and not the feature? import arcpy
import sys
import os
from arcpy import env
#Working folder
wFold = 'C:/Users/Will/Desktop/Testing'
#name of input points
inPts = "ARMs_UTM.shp"
#name of field with unique point names (e.g. ARMsID)
spltFld = "ARMs_numbe"
#Output features folder
ptLoc = 'C:/Users/Will/Desktop/Testing/pts'
#Set workspace
arcpy.env.workspace = wFold
arcpy.SplitByAttributes_analysis (inPts, ptLoc, spltFld)

Hi Dan, I have done a bit more testing. I can run it successfully from ArcMap, but from ArcPy it still only creates tables. Are they different tools on the back end? Any other ideas?

Thanks Dan, I was tried running it a few ways, including from ArcPy, and I got the same result. It is definitely the right layer, but it is outputting the features as dbf tables only. I did some more experimenting, and I think the issue stems from the split field being numerical (long). I created a new column and put a letter at the beginning of each number, and it seemed to work just fine. For now I will add the step of adding some string text at the beginning of each id as a workaround.

I am using the new Split by Attributes tool in 10.5. When I put in a shapefile as input, the outputs are tables only, no shapefiles. It reports in the tool output that shapefiles are being created, but only .dbf files are available in the output workspace. Any ideas are appreciated.

I manage scientific sampling location maps, and it would be fantastic for the field crews to have the locations automatically added to the attribute table.

I would like to automatically assign coordinates to the attribute table of an AGOL FS as features are added. Is there a method to do this, or would it have to be done through the REST API? Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks Katie, I did a bit more testing today, and yes it seems to have been a problem with the specific layer. It thought that a field was included twice in the table, or the query was asking for a field twice. In the end I exported the feature service to a GDB, used that GDB in ArcMap to overwrite the FS. It is now working again.

Further information: If I look at the network log from the chrome console, I get this: {"addResults":[],"updateResults":[{"objectId":1,"globalId":null,"success":false,"error":{"code":1000,"description":"The variable name '@ID' has already been declared. Variable names must be unique within a query batch or stored procedure."}}],"deleteResults":[]} It seems like there is some kind of SQL error, not sure why.
