Hello,

ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 version is installed on my computer, so ArcGIS Server and Portal are installed on the device. When I want to install Arcmap, I encounter an error like the one I sent in the attachment. How can I solve this error since I will not delete the ArcGIS server?

@GIS123EXPERT - yes, that is correct. The ability to install ArcMap on Server 10.9 was blocked. It was updated for 10.9.1.

Your options are: Upgrade to Enterprise / Server 10.9.1 or install ArcMap on a separate machine.

I would HIGHLY recommend installing 10.9.1 instead of 10.9 as it would be the most up-to-date version and includes multiple patches and security updates: https://support.esri.com/en-us/search?s=Newest&cardtype=support_patches_updates&version=10%252E9%252...

Also 10.9 is in Mature status (so no updates) and will be Retired June 1, 2024; https://support.esri.com/en-us/products/arcgis-enterprise/life-cycle (scroll down for the larger table)

Should be possible with Server 10.9.1; https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/system-requirements/10.9.1/windows/arcgis-server-system-requirement...

Can you confirm that you have 10.9.1 installed?

Hi George

You are right, I am using 10.9 as the version, I was wrong about this. However, I cannot understand why they cannot run on the same machine. Will I not be able to use Arcmap without upgrading the Enterprise version?

Hi George,

Retired period does it mean that I cannot use the ArcGIS PORTAL/SERVER?

Will I not be able to log in to the site after June 1?

Retired means this: https://downloads2.esri.com/support/TechArticles/Product-Life-Cycle.pdf - page 11 of the pdf starts with Enterprise.

You can still use the software after that date, BUT there will not be any real help available or updates.

It means you can't ask for any support from Esri after June 1, so do plan to upgrade to 10.9.1 which is supported until the end of 2027.  In general, never stay on version x.0 once a x.1 or bigger is released.  x.0 versions have the most bugs.

Once you upgrade to 10.9.1 you can install ArcMap on that server, but you must intall ArcMap version 10.8.2.  10.8.1 will not work.
