Does anybody know if there is a workaround to the issue described in #NIM061853 and #NIM063099? They both describe the same problem. Unfortunatly I don't see these numbers in the ArcGIS 10.0 Service Pack 5 Announcement. I have SP3, so I had a look in SP4 for these NIM's as well, but no, they were not included.

I have tried to put my proxy information in ArcCatalog Options under Connections, but with no luck.

I can see with Fiddler there is a POST to http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/services and the answer from the proxy says:
<HTML><HEAD>
<TITLE>Access Denied</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<FONT face="Helvetica">
<big><strong></strong></big><BR>
</FONT>
<blockquote>
<TABLE border=0 cellPadding=1 width="80%">
<TR><TD>
<FONT face="Helvetica">
<big>Access Denied (authentication_failed)</big>
<BR>
<BR>
</FONT>
</TD></TR>
<TR><TD>
<FONT face="Helvetica">
Your credentials could not be authenticated: "Credentials are missing.". You will not be permitted access until your credentials can be verified.
</FONT>
</TD></TR>
<TR><TD>
<FONT face="Helvetica">
This is typically caused by an incorrect username and/or password, but could also be caused by network problems.
...

I don't know much about proxy configuration, but mayby I can ask the proxy people on my company to do some tweak until there is a service pack with a solution?

Any help appreciated!

Tomas
