Using legend widget to display our own labels in map

Hi all,

I am trying to use the existing legend widget so that it displays the label and icons using own map. The icons are being displayed fine but the labels do not appear. Can anyone tell me how to set the label for the icons so that it appears using the legend widget?

I got the legend and labels to work through Arcgis online. Thanks!
