Editing polygon shapes

This may be a basic question but I don't get it. 

I have polygons I want to reshape so I can snap them to another feature in my map. I select my polygon, go to Edit -> Edit Vertices and drag a vertice to snap it to another feature. But everytime I do this the whole polygon wants to move. I've tried and tried to figure out why and I can't get it. 

Why is this? 

This was simple to do in ArcMap

@SLouq it sounds like you have Stretch Proportionately turned on

It's also available in Editing options:
