Perhaps I have not understood something correctly.
In the documentation on Projections on the fly, as well as again in Heather Smith's blog, it says “Projection on the fly performs the same process as the Project tool, only the data does not change” ...
We have the following case. A raster dataset with different classes. The values of the classes are transferred to points using "Extract values to Points". The data is to be projected for visualisation in Web Mercartor.
To check, we visualised the data in the different projections in ArcGIS Pro. The result is visible in the PDF in the annex. On the fly projections lead to an offset and distortion of the pixels in the raster data. Point data is displayed at the correct coordinates. If we then want to display the raster and points in Web Mercator, the values of the points do not always match the raster.
