I have installed Oracle 11gR2 and ArcSDE 10 in WindowsServer 2003 32-bit machine and post installation also finished( creating sde user) . And  i have installed oracle client also on the same machine. Now when i am adding the Database connection in ArcCatalog i have connected successfully to the SDE database and i have created one feature class and i have edited also. Those features what i have created are visible and table too in the ArcCatolog But in oracle sde database onel table name and schema is available without any data. i didn't find any rows in that table.

When i am trying to connect to the Sde By SQL PLus command promt it is showing no rows selected .My major objective is to query the SDE tables using Oracle directly. For this i have seen following links. But i didn't understand what to do, because i am very new to oracle and arc SDE...

2)http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Preparing_database_connection_files/00...
3)http://support.esri.com/es/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/20652

Can anybody help me what to do exactly after installing ArcSDE. Please give some suggestions what kind of configurations i need to do and how to do.

Thank you very much.....

The first step in this investigation would be to check if those edits are being saved to delta tables.
Is the feature class registered as versioned by any chance?

(To check if the feature class is registered as versioned ... Right click on the feature class in ArcCatalog > Properties)

Webhelp has a very good account of versioning. You can start with A quick tour of versioning.

"When you register a dataset as versioned, two delta tables are created: the A (or adds) table for insertions and updates and the D (or deletes) table for deletions. Each time you update or delete a record in the dataset, rows are added to one or both of these tables."

One way to move edits to the base table (to view them using SQL) is to Fully compress a geodatabase.
