Paul, I believe that communicating through https only is a requirement for IWA, but I am not absolutely sure about that. The documentation specifies to use this option, but I can't be sure that it is absolutely necessary. I am also curious if anybody knows this for a fact.

I am working with a Portal vs. 10.3.1 that incorporates Integrated Windows Authentication and therefore only communicates through https. When a web map is shared via a Story Map Series template, the option to use a web page in one of the tabs does not work unless it is secured with https. I figure this is just a limitation at this point, but I thought I would ask to see if anybody knows of any work around to fix this mixed content issue.

I am trying to create a back up strategy for the Portal content (working with vs 10.2.2). In order to move the content directory to another machine, I have to change the portal account from the local system account to a domain account. This action appears to break the portal, as it is no longer reachable after this is done. The domain account has the appropriate permissions for the portal installation and content directories. This is the same account that is used for ArcGIS Server (fairly certain that wouldn't matter, but perhaps the information is relevant). I know I am not providing much information here, but I have no idea where to even start troubleshooting this. The help doc at ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) would have you believe that this task should be straight forward. Has anybody run into this issue and if so, do you have a starting point for troubleshooting? Thanks!

Hi Scott, I really appreciate your response. This is helpful. So basically much of the functionality for ESRI Maps for office requires a hosted server on Portal for ArcGIS or using tokens to publish services to ArcGIS Online? Thanks, Rob

Is it possible to backup and restore an ArcGIS Server site that is federated with portal using a domain certificate (in other words a certificate that is not CA-signed)? I am attempting this directly in the REST admin site using the exportSite and importSite operations. I am receiving the following error: "Unable to find valid certification path to requested target." I am curious if this is even possible, and if so, what steps should I take to get around the issue of using a domain certificate?

I am also experiencing this issue. I have Portal secured using Integrated Windows Authentication and have a Federated ArcGIS Server associated with it. Everything works great with the federated server but I am unable to add an unsecured map service through http to Portal from a different ArcGIS Server. We are using Portal internally and the single sign-on capability is a great benefit, but we have many public facing services that need to be registered into Portal. Has anybody found a work around for this, or do we have to use the built-in user accounts for authentication in order to register unsecured services? As stated in the original post, this seems like a major limitation of Portal. This also appears to affect the use of ArcGIS webapp builder and ESRI Maps for Office. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I have just downloaded Esri Maps for Office to test it out and when I open Excel and click on the Esri Maps tab, I get the following error: Functionality such as the following will not be available due to the configuration of your Portal for ArcGIS Share Map Share Layer Add Excel Data using the Address Location Type Select Features by drawing a rectangle Find Near Selection Currently I have Portal for ArcGIS configured to use Windows Integrated Authentication and I have a federated ArcGIS Server with it. I cannot determine what about my configuration is causing this issue. If anybody has any suggestions about what might be the issue I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you, Rob

Hello All, I have a custom export to web map geoprocessing tool with four custom templates within my ArcGIS for Flex application. The printing task works fine except when it is exported as an EPS type and opened in Adobe Illustrator (a main use case within my agency). The map and some graphics appear just fine, but the text is all jumbled up into random characters and the north arrow is changed. This seems to be the case for both static and dynamic text in my templates. I'm using the font Georgia which is of course supported in Adobe Illustrator. Has anybody run into this issue before? Any suggestions on how to tackle this? Thank you for your time, Rob

Anthony, Thank you for the help! Just a quick clarification in case anybody else runs into this issue; the property should be "credits" instead of "service layer credits." The "service layer credits" dynamic text auto-populates from the map services visible in the web application and the "credits" dynamic text populates from the copyright textbox in the print widget. Cheers, Rob

Hello All, I have created a printing geoprocessing service with a custom layout template. In the print widget there is a textbox allowing users to enter copyright information, but I cannot find the dynamic text in ArcMap that relates to this copyright field. Would anybody be able to explain to me how I can enter a copyright text block in my custom layout that references the copyright information entered in the print widget? Thank you, Rob

Anthony, Thanks for the response. I am referring to the standard ArcGIS online basemaps accessed by setting the addarcgisbasemaps="true" in the map tag. I suppose I am trying to find where this string exists within the source code and try to parse it based on the "|" separator, but I am having difficulty locating it. If you or anybody else knew which file or variable this string existed in that would be a great help to point me in the right direction. Thanks again for the help, Rob

Hello, I am curious if there is an easy to way to have the copyright text for the operational layers displayed in the bottom right corner without the basemap copyright text. I understand that the attributionvisible tag controls whether or not the copyright text is displayed, but I would prefer one to show up and not the other. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

I appreciate your effort, but I actually just figured it out and it turns out this was very trivial, so I apologize for the wasted thread. This is a tiled mapservice and I simply had to set the popupconfig property for the remainder of my sublayers.
<layer label="Wind Turbines" type="tiled" visible="flase" alpha="1.0"
url="http://eerscmap.er.usgs.gov/arcgis/rest/services/wind/wTurbinesWM/MapServer">
<sublayer id="1" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
<sublayer id="2" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
<sublayer id="3" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
<sublayer id="4" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
<sublayer id="5" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
<sublayer id="6" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
</layer>
Thanks!

I am brand new to programming and ArcGIS Viewer for Flex, so I apologize if I am leaving out information or if this seems trivial. I have added this map service to my application with the following properties:
<layer label="Wind Turbines" type="tiled" visible="flase" alpha="1.0"
url="http://eerscmap.er.usgs.gov/arcgis/rest/services/wind/wTurbinesWM/MapServer">
<sublayer id="1" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_WindTurbines.xml"/>
</layer>
My pop-up configuration file:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<configuration>
<title>{SiteName}</title>
<fields>
<field name="image_name" visible="true"/>
<field name="ORS_Number" alias="ORS Number" visible="true"/>
<field name="type_tower" alias="Tower Type" visible="true"/>
<field name="lat_DD" alias="Latitude" visible="true"/>
<field name="lon_DD" alias="Longitude" visible="true"/>
<field name="image_year" alias="Image Year" visible="true"/>
<field name="blengthT" alias="Length" visible="true"/>
<field name="rotSwepT" alias="Rotswept" visible="true"/>
<field name="MW_float" alias="MW-Decimal" visible="true"/>
<field name="MW_text" alias="MW-Text" visible="true"/>
<field name="inst_year" alias="Inst Year" visible="true"/>
<field name="SiteName" alias="Site Name"/>
<field name="Bin" visible="true"/>
<field name="tothtT" visible="true"/>
<field name="confT" visible="true"/>
<field name="bl_float" visible="true"/>
<field name="th_float" visible="true"/>
</fields>
</configuration>
In my application, the pop-ups only display when I am zoomed in to a very large scale. It would be much appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction on how to troubleshoot this issue. I would like the pop-ups to display at all scales. I am not even sure if this is an issue with my code for ArcGIS Viewer or with the map service. Thanks for the help!
