We are using asp.net membership and role provider for SQL Server (10.50.4000). I can't explain what was causing this error (I think something was wrong with Identity store Json config properties) , but I have followed the documentation and reconfigured Identity store (configured to membership database) and it did work for me. I have had this issue because field type is blob for on one of the layer that are participating in featurelayer. Deleting blob field resolved the "illegal start of token" issue.

I do have Geodata service and couple of mapservice in ArcGIS Server. There is no activities (sync) going on server, but still see the following error in ArcGIS Server logs. Any idea why am I getting this error? We don't have clusters, using only one ArcGIS Server 10.2.2 machine. Error:An error was encountered while synchronizing with the config store. Failed to synchronize machine 'XXXXX' with the site. Failed to update the identity store configuration. Failed to refresh the identity store configuration. RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments; nested exception is: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.esri.arcgis.discovery.servicelib.ServerContext Thanks, Sravan

What is the best way to replicate the data between clients? Both client database will not have access to each other. We tried the option ‘Geodata service Replication’. But we stuck with the limitation of Sync failed if you have more that 1000 deletes in either of the databases (see blow link). Other than ‘Geodata service replication’, what would be the best approach to handle the two-way replication between the databases? My thoughts are export the data from Geodata service to GDB and import it. Script it out the whole process and schedule it nightly. Is there any elegant way to handle it other then esri replication? We are using ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 Client1: sql server SDE 2008r2 Client2: Oracle SDE 11g 64-bit database Thanks, Sravan

I am having the same issue. I am trying to restrict the extent of the map. I have created the behavior for this, but MapExtent changed event is going to infinity loop. I am using Silverlight Viewer API 3.2. Please see the attached screenshot How to resolve this issue without going to infinity loop. Thanks, Sravan

I remember doing this process (backing up from parent restore in child) and sync worked. I could be wrong too.. I will try re-register the new replica (and unregistered existing one) again from the scratch and see how it works, and keep you posted. Thanks for the responses on this. Still curious, is there any way (using logs) to find out what exactly went wrong and where the the replication is failing?

Thank you for the response to my query. Q: Can you think of anything that may have changed on your server(s) or geodatabases themselves? A: Synchronization is failing after we made schema change in the ??Parent replica??. But we restored the sql backup from the Parent replica to Child replica and then we performed the synchronization. I did not recreate the replication. This is the procedure we have been following for long time. Q: Are you certain that both the parent and child are still registered as replicas? A: Yes Q: How are you performing synchronization; connected or disconnected? A: Connected Q: Are the replicas' parent versions protected or private or public? Has anyone directly edited the child replica? A: Public I would like to know, using log files, how to track this issue. I setup the SDEINTERCEPT log as well to identify the problem. But not sure how to read the 150mb (SDEINTERCEPT) log file. S

I have trouble tracing the error which was getting by Synchronization process. I have created Onaway replication between the ArcSDE 10 sql server 2008 (which is parent) and ArcSDE 10.1 sql server 2008 (child replica). It was working for a while and suddenly failing the synchronization with the error message ??Invalid parameter passed to function?. I set the environmental variables ??SDETRACELOC? and ??SDETRACEMODE? to trace the problem and I could not find much information on the log files, including in ReplicationLog.dat file. Re-creating the replication might help to overcome this problem, but before that, I would like to know root cause for the error message. Any help on this highly appreciated. Regards, S

Hi, I am trying to create ??Export to Shape? (from map service) using REST/SOE. Exporting functionality working fine and creates the shapefiles, but with schema locks (As mentioned in the below article). These locks are not getting cleared until I restart my map services. Is there any way to get rid of these schema locks? As soon as export process has been done, I want to create the zip file and send it back to client (Silverlight) for download. I am using ArcGIS Server 10 and Client app is Silverlight. http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/38493 Regards, Srv

Hi, My Silverlight (API 2.2 ArcGIS 10) application currently accessing the secured map services though the proxy url and it works fine. Next, I am performing ???Export Map??? (using REST API) on secured map services and I get ???Invalid token??? error, which is expected error (since no token has been used in my rest url). I can generate the token in the client side and pass the token to REST url to make it work, but I would like to avoid passing user name and password to client side (security) to generate the token. My question is, how can I use proxy for the rest operations? If not is there any way to get (dynamic) token back from the proxy to the client side, so that it can be used for REST operations. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Srv
